Moose Hunts

The eastern or Taiga moose is the subspecies found in Maine. While slightly smaller than its western counterparts, it is no less exciting to hunt! Our dense conifer stands in Maine provide thick cover for moose to hide in, and our guides are experienced at “calling out” moose. During Maine’s fall hunting season an average bull weighs 800 lbs (dressed), however a bull weighing in over 1,000 lbs. is not unusual.

To ensure optimum service, we will book no more than 2 parties per season. Troy has been a Master Maine Guide for 30 years and prides himself on providing quality hunts. We customize our hunts to accommodate our hunters; offering remote hunts, canoe hunts or less demanding hunts. Mature bulls with large palms and multiple brow tines are targeted, while smaller bulls are passed over in order to preserve them for future hunts.

Our guides spend countless hours in the Maine woods and are familiar with areas moose frequent. Our moose hunts operate at a 100% success rate and it is not uncommon to harvest a 50 inch trophy! Put 30+ years of experience to work for you on your next Maine hunting adventure!

Moose hunt requires Maine moose lottery license. Click here for more information.  Rate includes guide service for permittee and sub-permittee, lodging and game retrieval.

Non-hunters are welcome to accompany the hunter. *See rates page for prices.
Wild game processing is available for an additional charge.

Troy can guide in any zone.  For the best moose hunt, select September only, bull only, so you can hunt the rut. Also, select that you will only accept zones you selected. If you want a hunt without calling a moose, October and November can be chosen. If you choose October or November, the zones closer to the coast and southern Maine can be difficult hunts.
